Will refilling void my printer warranty?
No. Your printer’s manufacturer is not responsible for any damage resulting from the use of a refilled ink cartridge, but any issue not resulting from the use of a refilled cartridge will still be covered under your standard warranty.
How long does it take to refill a cartridge?
Cartridges can be ready same day depending on the quantity dropped off, current volume, & time of day. We will give you a pick up time based on service volume but usually we can offer same day service.
How much ink do I get in a refill?
We closely match or exceed the amount of ink you get in a new cartridge.
My ink runs out so quickly:
If you have just purchased your printer you will receive starter cartridges in the printer that do not contain much ink. Once you run out of the ink in the starter cartridges that come with the printer, and then replace with new ink cartridges sold separately, it is possible that you feel as though the ink cartridges have run out very quickly. The reason is that the first time you install the ink cartridges the machine will use extra ink to fill the ink delivery tubes, although this is a one-time process that enables the machine to carry out high quality printing. The starter ink has a greater volume than the ink cartridges sold separately for this reason. After this initial setup, replacement ink cartridges will print the specified number of pages quoted.
If you feel that the ink cartridges run out very quickly every time you replace the ink, it's possible you are printing high density documents frequently. The ink consumption varies very much on print density. Especially when you print a document with a higher density of background on it, a bigger amount of ink will be used. Also, the periodic, automatic print head assembly cleaning mechanism will use a small amount of ink each time it cleans itself.
I have installed the ink cartridges but when I print, the pages come out blank…
Have you removed the tear-off strip from the top of the cartridge? If yes, remove and re-seat the cartridge on the carriage and perform 2 to 3 cleaning cycles. Next, do a print test pattern. When installing any new cartridge, you must carry out a number of cleaning cycles to allow the printer to initialize and to get the new ink to pass onto the print head.
*Ensure that all cartridges in your printer are full before you carry out any test. If nozzle test is still poor, leave the cartridges in printer for 5 minutes further then perform a nozzle clean again.
Can I refill my cartridge here even if I have already refilled it somewhere else?
As long as your cartridge is in good working order, we will refill it for you.
Is there a recommended usage date for a refilled cartridge?
A refilled integrated print head cartridge should be used within 90 days of refill, and remain in the plastic clip until ready for use. A refilled individual ink tank/cartridge may be used up to 1 year from the refill date.
REFILL QUALITY
How do I know that the cartridge will work in my printer?
Each cartridge is tested after refilling to verify that ink is flowing through the nozzles correctly.
Is the ink the same quality as an original HP, Canon, Epson, Brother, Lexmark or Dell cartridge?
Ink quality does make a difference in print quality. We use cartridge specific ink to closely match the original manufacturer’s colors and to ensure the highest possible output quality for each cartridge type.
Will I get similar results to a new cartridge?
Yes, the results you will get from a refilled cartridge will closely match the results of a new cartridge. For most consumers, there will be no significant difference in everyday printing quality. Refilling your cartridge is an easy and cost effective way of supplying your printer with ink. Whether printing with new or refilled cartridges, always use inkjet specific paper for best printing results.
What if there is a problem with my cartridge and it can't be refilled?
We can recycle the cartridge for you. You’ll need to purchase a new cartridge and then you’ll be able to bring that back when the time comes for a refill, the next time you’re out of ink.
CARTRIDGE REFILLING & CARE
What are the advantages of a refilled cartridge?
You save money on your purchase AND it is good for the environment since the cartridge is reused.
When should I refill a cartridge?
We recommend that you refill a cartridge as soon as the print quality begins to degrade. Continuing to print a cartridge that is running dry will damage it and reduce the possibility of the cartridge being refilled.
How many times can I refill a cartridge?
The number of refills depends on many factors but, the most important is how well you take care of your cartridge. A well cared for integrated cartridge can be refilled multiple times. Whereas individual ink tanks/cartridges can be refilled until the cartridge becomes damaged or leaks.
What is the proper way to handle a cartridge?
As soon as you remove the cartridge from your printer, place it into a plastic clip if you can, this will protect the cartridge and prevent it from drying out. Be careful not to rub print heads together when transporting. Never touch, clean or place tape over the print head nozzles and keep in a cool place. Bring the cartridge to Mainland Cartridge Works for refilling as soon as possible after removing it from your printer.
